Baby Marie's Nursery Tour

The nursery is my favorite room in our home. I think it is the perfect balance of neutral and blush. Originally, when I found out I was expecting a little girl, I swore off a pink nursery in favor of a more simple, neutral space. While the room is still made up of mainly neutral colors, I couldn’t help myself and ended up adding several touches of blush. I think it is the perfect amount of "girly".

I knew I wanted to paint the walls white, but also wanted to bring in some color, pattern and texture with an accent wallpaper. I tried several samples before I settled on this beautiful dot print. At first glance, it seemed too pink online, but ended up being a subtle blush and I love the organic circle shape.

The gorgeous crib was the biggest splurge item on my wish list. I fell in love with the classic design and we were beyond thrilled when my mother gifted it to us. Marie was gifted several stuffed animals.  Not only are they insanely soft, they double as decor since they are so precious. She just happened to receive two matching bunnies in different sizes.

Note: she never sleeps with pillows or stuffed animals these are simply for adorable photos.

The corner behind the glider was the last area of the room to be completed.  I hadn’t originally planned to have anything additional in that space, but it seemed sparse once the rest of the room was complete. I added this modern mobile which ties in the brass and natural wood from the dresser.

One of my favorite finds was this large and affordable framed canvas print (36x36). Previously, it hung in a different room of our house, but one day I walked by and thought "That could be perfect for the nursery!". I love how it adds some additional color since I choose to keep the majority of the room fairly muted.

The glider was passed down from my sister. I highly recommend getting a glider with a machine washable slipcover. This one was able to withstand 3 babies over 5 years. I added this adorable striped pillow and a side table so that I could have a small light and a place for books and bottles at night.

I use these large baskets to organize toys and sort dirty laundry.

I found this beautiful dresser through Kelley Nan. You have to check out her adorable nursery here. I wanted a dresser that would be able to grow with her in favor of something more traditional. I think if you find a piece they can use for years, it's worth the investment. A little mom tip - find a dresser with an open bottom. I can't tell you how many pacifiers she has dropped behind the dresser and the open bottom makes it easy to retrieve them!  The brass handles on the dresser inspired the decision to bring in other brass elements in the mirror, curtain rods and mobile.

Greenery makes every room feel more finished. I knew I couldn’t have real plants in a baby’s room, so I found these great faux options!

After completing our registry and having a shower I was blessed to receive so many wonderful things. I wanted to utilize her closet as much as possible. We don’t have a ton of storage in our home, so I knew I need to maximize this space. I used these pretty woven baskets that come in a variety of sizes for larger items and these clear bins for things I use more often like bibs and burp cloths.

For her dresser organization I found these cube bins that come in multiple sizes so I could create different configurations for every drawer.

I hope you all love her nursery as much as I do. I wanted to create a space that I love just as much as her. I’ve rounded up everything from her nursery for you here! Congrats and love to all your new mamas, soon to be mamas and mamas at heart. It takes a village!
